What Causes Nausea With Blood In Vomit?

I am feeling nausea and over heated and when I threw up there was bright red blood in my vomit. Not an excessive amount, but not streaks. It was enough. I am currently taking pain medications for acetabular dysplasia which I need to have surgery for soon and am worried that prolonged use of the medications may have caused ulcers. But I do not know if that would explain the nausea and clammy, weak feeling as well.
