What Causes No Bowel Movement After Enema?

Hi I had to take an enema for a flex sig tomorrow. I don t think I used enough liquid. I waited a while but when i evacuated i did not have a bowel movement, I just got rid of the liquid. On the box it states that I should call a doctor if I don t have a bowel movement. In addition, I have to do another enema tomorrow. What should I do?

Hello and Welcome

I appreciate your concern.

I would advise you to fix an appointment with your doctor to see for any signs of absolute constipation or bowel obstruction. if there is no significant problem then pro kinetic meds like domeperidone or metoclopramide may be added.

wishing you best of health

Thanks
