What Causes Numbness In The Feet?

I am a 71 year old female. I have back problems and knee problems. I have been experiencing weird feelings in both my feet, hard to explain, they feel like they are falling asleep or numb. I tend to hit my feet to the floor as though I am trying to wake them up. I had a full work up of labs done, everything came out fine. Thank You! Carol

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

It might be due to neuropathic causes. Other possibilities are vitamin B12 deficiency and uncontrolled diabetes.

Consult a neurologist and get evaluated, the detailed evaluation including nerve conduction study is needed to make a diagnosis.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
General & Family Physician
