What Causes Numbness In The Foot After Kenalog Injection?

I had EMG that came back normal. But my foot is numb due to kenalog injection in my foot for a Morton s neuroma, supposedly. About a week after the injection, I went shopping and my first and second toes went numb. My other toes are numb also and have numbness, pinching, and tingling in my whole foot...mainly my toes. Neurologist said tests were normal, go to podiatrist. I told the woman who called with the results that my foot is numb, and podiatrist said he didn t think it was kenalog injection...go to neurologist. What the hell? I am getting the run around. My foot is numb. It is numb due to kenalog injection. I know because my foot went numb while walking in flip flops (food shopping) lifting heavy bags..than all of a sudden my toes went numb.

Hi
Thanks for posting on HCM
Your foot numbness may not be cause by kenalog injection. If the case, symptoms will not develop a week after your shot. You will have numbness almost immeidately after the shot.
A normal EMG may not exclude other neurologic causes of your symptoms.Possible causes of your symptoms may include:
-Aggravation of symptoms of Morton s neuroma
-Other neurologic problems like MS, stroke
-Ionic imbalances like low calcium, magnesium...
-Metabolic/vitamin deficiency
-And others
I will suggest you see your Neurologist again for an extensive evaluation with work-ups.Tests that may be useful may include: full blood count, ESR, serum electrolytes, fasting blood sugar, vitamin levels, brain scan or MRI.
In the meantime, i will advise:
*Enough rest
*Good diet with vegetables
Hope this will help
Wish you good health
