What Causes Numbness In Thumb While Swimming?

My daughter keeps telling me that her thumb is going numb when she is swimming in our pool. She has said that she can t feel anything when she touches it. It has happened three times now. No other fingers just her thumb. She is 10 years old and has no medical problems. She is a healthy average 10 year old.

Most likely this is nothing serious but she could have something going on in the carpal tunnel area. It is best to take her to her pediatrician and let them do an exam.
