Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I m 18 years old. For a few hours it s felt like my upper right arm is asleep and the whole thing is kind of numb. I keep trying to shake it hoping to regain normal feeling but nothing s happening. It started when I got out of the shower so maybe my arms were up for too long when I was washing my hair and I lost blood flow? It s not painful just very annoying.
Dear patient Is numbness occurring on right side only ? If yes then there are two possibilities 1. Cervical rib is a condition in which a patient has extra rib at the base of neck which leads to nerve compression 2. Nerve compression at cervical spine level . Nerve compression might be due to disc prolapse. You need to be investigated with radiograph of cervical spine to rule out bony abnormalities. MRI of cervical spine is also advised to rule out soft tissue abnormalities. Do consult expert neurophysician with report.
