What Causes Numbness In Wrist When Suffering From Charcot-marie-tooth Disease?

I have CMT type II principally in my feet. It causes pain, numbness, burning, and pinching. I have had it since I was 58 years old. I am now 67. It is a progressive condition although it started benignly. There was no pain or numbness in the beginning. I am on Percocet and Lyrica (Pregabelin) for pain and symptom relief. The condition affects the peripheral arms and legs. (It is a class of peripheral neuropathy). THe condition has not spread to my arms as yet. This brings me to my question. Lately I have noted a slight numbing in my right wrist. Given that I haven t injured ny wrist could this be the start of CMT in my arms?

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hi
Later in the disease state, weakness and muscle atrophy may occur in the hands, resulting in difficulty with carrying out fine motor skills (the coordination of small movements usually in the fingers, hands, wrists, feet, and tongue)
I may suggest adding methycobalamin tabs also if your doctor agrees for better nerve functioning and gabapentin instead of pregabelin.consult a neurologist also
