Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Since September 4th of this year I noticed that my right top thigh was numb with no pain, I have since sent my doctor, had an MRI of my lumbar spine which came back fine and spent 2 weeks in physical therapy, which I stopped due to my leg and groin area feeling tight and having a lot of pain, which at times disturbed my sleep. I also started experiencing my calf being numb and now my foot. This numbness doest go away it is all day and night and now I walk with a limp. I will be seeing a neurologist this week to do some nerve tests on my thigh but wanted a second opinion because I am starting to get scared and really depressed because I can t function normally. I am 34 years old.
Hi Welcome to healhcaremagic After going through your query I concluded that you are having numbness of your calf and foot. Your MRI of lumbar spine is normal. Now there are possibilities of vascular cause, you can get arteriography and venogram of leg to know that. You can also get done nerve conduction study of nerves of leg. You should also exclude diabetic neuropathy by blood sugar tests. Till then Mecobalamine will be useful. You can take analgesic such as ibuprofen for pain relief.
