What Causes Occlusion Of Femoral Artery?

I have 50mm occlusion of superior femoral artery. I ran 14 mile in the morning and 4 hours later couldn't walk 200m up the road - no warning over preceding days/weeks/months. Tests show no reason for me to be clotting. No arterial narrowing anywhere else. Coule this be adductor canal syndrome (why no warning?) and what are best options to regain circulation and prevent it from recurring?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi. What is your age? Do you have risk factors for atherosclerosis like overweight or smoking? I would need to see the report to give accurate treatment options. If its a thrombosis it can be removed surgically. If it's am occlusion then it will require other treatment modalities. Please tell me in detail for better advice. You can contact me directly by using the ' Ask a Specialist ' section of the site.
Take care.
