What Causes Oozing Of Fluid From A Wound In A Child?

My son has 3 stiches on his head wound from teeth , a child jumped of a slide an the child mouth scraped my son head causing him to get stitches on sunday went to emergemcy no test was done just stitches the wound has been oozing orange fluid since is this normal

Hi thanks for your question.

No this is not normal and suggests that the wound may be infected which is very common after a human bite.

I would suggest you go to the ER or to your family Dr who can assess the wound, take a swab and start antibiotic treatment.

Occasionally further surgery to clean the wound out may be required.
