What Causes Orange Color On Face?

My son woke up yesterday and his face has gone an orangy colour, the rest of his body is normal. I can only describe it as looking like he is wearing foundation. Its not itchy and he has no other symptoms.He hasn t changed any of his soaps or the way he washes and he is not on medication or drugs.

A viral rash may lead to reddish coloration of the face. Orange coloration is unheard of except with what is named "carotenemia" - which is when the high carotene levels in the blood produce an orangy tinge to the whole body and not just to the face. That happens very rarely, and can follow overeating of carrots - but, as I said, it is extremely rare.
