Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Orange/pinkish Stools With Bloated Stomach?
I have a 6 year old boy who had a light orange/pinkish stool a couple of days ago. I didn't think much of it but it was strange enough looking that I directed my son's attention to it. Well, he has since become constipated. He isn't complaining of any major stomach pain but his tummy is a bit bloated. I used a pediatric suppository but it didn't stay in very long. When it came out, a tiny bit of stool (smaller than a dime), came out and it was light pink - almost looked like light-colored ground beef in consistency. Can kids have stools that are strange colored like this? He hasn't eaten anything out of the ordinary. We have seen it look green-tinged before, and I've seen his stools after eating tomatoes, but he hasn't eaten them lately and this is different looking.
HI Well come to HCM I really appreciate your concern, no need to over conscious if child does not pass the stool for couple of days and try avoid using suppository because it may cause the erosion of rectal inner mucosa, color of stool is entirely depends upon the diet taken and if it creates the doubt then better to send the stool for lab test or it is most advisable to discus the matter with pediatrician hope this information helps.
