What Causes Pain After And Before Urinating?

I am a 16 year old girl. Everytime I urinate, immediately before, during and after I have pain in my lower right side. This has been going on for about 3-4 days and I am beginning to become concerned. I have not taken any medicines as I thought this problem would go away on its own but the pain is still continuing. What could it be? Thank you for your cooperation.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It sounds like a urinary tract infection. I suggest you see your doctor for a urinalysis and have your urine cultured for bacteria. Be sure to drink lots of fluids.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Anders Mark Christensen, General Surgeon
