What Causes Pain And Bleeding During A Bowel Movement?
Good day. I have had a problem with bowel movement. I bleed when i pass stool. I had an operation almost 4 years ago(proctosigdectomy ) . Mynsurgeon said there was nothing wrong found byt niw ut is getting worse. The bleeding and the pain. What could this be and how can i get rid 8f the pain
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history and understood your concerns. Procto-sigmoidectomy meas the part of the large bowel containing sigmoid colon and rectum was removed, this also means that anal canal and sphincter was preserved. If one gets bleeding with stool there is obviously a reason and hence per-rectal examination and colonoscopy is a must. Insist for this so that a proper diagnosis can be made and thus properly treated as per the findings. Watch for the foods and beverages that cause the problems and stop altogether. Avoid the stress and anxiety as these have direct bearing on the gastrointestinal tract. Take second opinion of another General Surgeon or a Gastroenterologist if there is any more doubts as this too helps for a proper diagnosis and management.
