What Causes Pain And Knot In Legs?

I have experienced severe leg pain, and in the past chalked it up to the cholesterol medicine I was taking. It usually stops when i stop taking the cholestoerol meds. However last night my legs were aching and most of the day yesterday. I took a shower and noticed that just below my knee a couple of inches and to the righ inside of calf was a know, and it was very tender. I finally took two aleve and fell asleep. When I awoke this morning the tenderness and know was gone. Could this be a blood clot? I am 44 years old, five foot six inches, and 186 lbs. I have many health issues. High BP, low thyroid, high cholesterol, type 2 diabetes, depression, fiberimalgia, carpet tunnel, bersidus, tingling in feet and hands, and both often go to sleep. The pain in my legs does at times seem to stem from my lower back and specifically my left hip. I have also been having some problems with my left knee. I am falling apart. I also have a right rotor cuff tear that injections have been controlling so far. I am a rural mail carrier, so my job is very physical.
