I hit my finger eight days ago. It is the first finger on my left hand. I am currently, since the injury not able to bend it to touch the palm of my hand. There was bruising and some pain when it happened eight days ago. do you think I may have a fracture?

Hi,Thanks for your query. After going through your query I came to know that you got injury to your finger 8 day back. Now you are not able to touch the palm by bending this finger. In my opinion you got joint and ligament injury. Treatment of it is rest and analgesics (diclofenac ). Vitamin B-complex and Vitamin C supplementation promote healing. You are advised mobilization exercises of finger. In my opinion it is unlikely to have fracture , however you can get x-ray of it done to exclude fracture. You can discuss with your treating Doctor about it. I do hope that you have found something helpful and I will be glad to answer any further query. Take care.
