What Causes Pain And Nausea Diagnosed With Pancreatitis And Blockage In Pancreas?
Hi. I was hospitalized for 3 days in the beginning of this past February with Pancreatitis and a blockage in my pancreas. That is all I know right now. I have an appointment this coming Tuesday with a specialist for the consultation to have a procedure called ERCP. I am extremely nervous and anxious about all of this because I have been in an extreme amount of pain and have a ton of nausea. Can anyone please advise. I just want the pain and nausea to stop.
Hi. Thank for your query. Noted the history of getting hospitalized for 3 days with pancreatitis, blockage of pancreas, have an appointment for ERCP and worried about the pain and so on, wants advise. ERCP means Endoscopic retrograde cholangio-pancreaticography. This is totally a painless procedure as it is done under general anesthesia. This is done to visualize the bile ducts, pancreatic ducts for any obstruction and removal of any stones if present and hence relieving pain in future. So go for it without any fear or anxiety. Follow the instruction that will be given by your nurse or a Doctor.
