What Causes Pain And Numbness Above The Ankle?

I am overweight ... last night my left thigh began feeling very warm - i actually thought i must be sitting over a heat vent, and it moved down to just above my knee. this morning that area was numb. tonight, when i touch or rub it, it is tingly but still a little numb. no pain. and i rode a stationary bike tonight and walked around all day with no problems. is this something to worry about? Friends cautioned me about possible blood clots .. or bad vein problems ... i wasn t going to worry about it but those made me second guess. your thoughts?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Consult an orthopaedician and get evaluated. He might require an MRI scan to look for possible fracture or contusion.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
