What Causes Pain And Pressure In The Urinary Bladder?

Pressure in the bladder area. Physician treating me with a pill for incontinence. I don t believe this is the problem. I can hold my urine, no problem. It s the pain in that region at night that bothers me. I have to get up several times & try to urinate. Sometimes I have to bear down to urinate. Intercourse with my husband has also been extremely painful for several years now. My GYN did an ultrasound, found nothing wrong, wants to treat me with an estrogen cream. I truly believe both Dr s. are miss diagnosing the problem. Sometimes through the night I will wake up and have to rub my stomach to calm down the pain temporarily. I am 56 years old and just finished Menopause about a year ago. The Urologist I ve been seeing did a test in the office that checked how well my bladder was emptying. It was fine. What other testing can be done to find out what this problem is?

Thanks for query .

Pain in supra pubic region with frequency of urination and nocturia strongly suggest UTI (Cystitis).

Please get following basic test done
1)your routine urine test and urine culture done to find out the organisms causing this infection and antibiotics to which they are sensitive to.
2) Ultrasound Scanning of abdomen .

Please take broad spectrum antibiotics like Cefotaxime along with urinary antiseptic like Nitrofurantoin twice daily and urine alkalizer thrice daily .Later on switch on to appropriate antibiotics as per culture report.

Get the prescription of medicines from your family Physician.
