What Causes Pain And Spasms In Left Side When Diagnosed With IBS?

I have recently had a colonoscopy where they found apthae & erosions in my terminal ileum I have near constant pain & spasming in my lover left side. My general physician diagnosed me with ibs, but I don t know what to do now. Could it be something else? I feel like its a pretty general diagnosis that had left me a little clueless. And I am still in pain. Please help

Hi.
I've gone through your query and I can understand your anxiety.

Lacrimal gland & caruncle inflammation might be acute or chronic.

Acute condition is mainly caused by bacterial or viral infection such as mumps, Epstein-Barr virus, staphylococcus etc. Chronic cases could be due to thyroid eye disorder, sarcoidosis etc & at times by allergens. But the common causative agents should be found & treated.

I advice you,
- To have a detailed examination of eyes & lids
- keep hot compress over the gland area ( over the medial or bony ridge beneath the eye towards the top of the nose)
- Analgesics & anti-inflammatory drugs for pain & swelling
-If Viral cause : symptomatic treatment.
- If Bacterial - antibiotics (cephalosporins) can be taken.
- If not resolving even then, underlying secondary diseases should be treated - Do TFT.
