What Causes Pain And Swelling In Ankle?
I went to the doctor and they did an X-Ray of the ankle and no bones were broken but after the swelling went down in my ankle a large bruise and lump formed below the ankle and on the top and side of my foot. It's so bad I can barely walk and it only seems to be getting worse. Could this be adema or a stress fracture?

Before I answer your query,I need to know the status of other joint? and blood test (serum uric acid) done.
It could well be due to raised uric acid level.Meanwhile you may use hot water fomentation,Gentle ankle exercises,and Ibuprofen.
