What Causes Pain And Swelling In Arm After Donating Blood?

I just donated blood at around 9 am, and my upper arm from which I donated is swollen and sore and very tender. However, there is no bruising, and the swelling and soreness is not at the site where I had my blood drawn. The swelling had gone down, but it s inflamed again. None of the nurses or technicians knew what was going on.
