What Causes Pain And Swelling On Wrist Due To Injury?

I injured my wrist on my ulnar side 5 days ago, I went to an urgent care and they took an X-ray and said there wasn t a fracture, probably just a sprain, they have me a brave to wear! It s swollen still and the pain seems to be getting worse, definitely not better! I m wondering if this is normal or should I get a second opinion?

A pain in wrist without a fracture can be due to soft tissue injury and local collection of blood, which can take at least few weeks to resolve and the pain to subside.
Pain after 5 days is not uncommon after such injuries.
if the pain is severe enough for you to be not been able to control by prescribed medication of doctor, a consultation to your treating doctor or a second opinion can be done. Difficult to opine without having an examination here.
