What Causes Pain And Tenderness In The Lower Abdomen?

I started having abdominal pain since about 6pm last night. By about 4 to 5 am it was pretty much gone. The pain started again this afternoon, not as acute as during the night. My lower abdomen is tender to the touch. There is no nausea, vomiting or fever. I m 69 yrs old and have cardiovascular disease. I actually feel pretty good, beside the pain

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

There are several reasons for abdomen pain, depends upon the site, but more common is colic and it may be due to dyspepsia (indigestion), hyperacidity, renal colic, and biliary colic (stone conditions). These are the common reasons for abdomen pain, besides these, it can be nonspecific.

If I would be a doctor of this case, then I would try to treat this case with tablet Dicyclomine with Paracetamol and tablet Omeprazole as per needed. Try to avoid heavy meal, spicy meal, and fried foods.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Akhtarhusain
