What Causes Pain Around The Heart Area?

about 6 months ago I had esophogeal reflux, which wasn't uncommon. Then this particular day, I began to feel some pain happening in my heart area. I drove myself to the ER and they did an ultrasound and found nothing. I was told it was just GERD. I was sent home after a treadmill stress test showed no problems. Well, since then, I continue to have pain and sensations around my heart area, and also reflux at times when I neglect to chew up my food enough. Is this typical of esophogeal reflux? Oh also, I feel pain and stiffness in and around the shoulder sometimes.

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, I had gone through the symptoms given here and I could say that the symptoms of GERD and the Cardiac related pain (Angina due to ischemia ) are similar and the tests can only differentiate them now you have gone through the cardiac evaluation tests and it is all negative so no need to worry about the symptoms and it could be due to GERD only.
Medication :- Tab Omeprazole 40 mg Domperidone 20 mg once in day for six weeks.
Advise:- Try to avoid the spicy meal, heavy meal, coffee, smoking, alcohol, prior to bed, try to have more alkali food like green leafy vegetables.
hope this information helps.
