What Causes Pain At The Nape Of The Neck And Recurrent Headaches?

I m a 38 year old male in great shape taking no medications. Approximently two weeks ago I was working out when I had a wearied feeling at the base of my skull when I came down off the pull up bars from doing an ab workout it made me a little light headed but I completed the workout, there has never been pain at the base of the skull where it meets the neck it was just a feeling like when your ears pop. I have had mild to bad head aches every day since worse in the afternoon or after working out or working hard. Should I be concerned?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Occipital region headache with neck pain is likely to be due to migraine episodes. Take timely breakfast and lunch. Avoid excessive tea or coffee intake. Take timely appropriate sleep.
Get evaluated by a neurologist.
Drugs like Flunarizine, Amitriptyline, Propranolol, Topiramate or Divalproate can be used for headache prophylaxis.
Pain killers like Naproxen can be taken during acute episodes.
