What Causes Pain Between Shoulder Blades And Upper Abdomen Where The Diaphragm Is?

I have had a cold for about 10 days. It developed into a cough that doesn t keep me awake at night, but has induced my seasonal asthma. I am taking my inhaler periodically when my cough gets a little out of control. My concern is the dull achy pain between my shoulder blades and upper abdomen, right where my diaphragm is. Just wondering should I be concerned, or go to the doctor? I m taking no other medications currently.

Hello

I have understood your symptoms,

There is radiating pain from inter scapular region downwards. Usually cervical disc bulge leads to nerve compression .
so I will advise you physiotherapy like Interferential therapy and auto traction for early recovery.
Static and against resistance guided exercise therapy may help in this case.
You can consult physiotherapist for that.

MRI cervical spine will help you to see severity of nerve compression.
Associated with hyper acidity leading to rib pain.So will advise anti acidity medication also.
Consult your doctor for investigation.
