What Causes Pain, Burning And Discomfort In Upper Abdominal Area?

For three days: I have upper abdominal discomfort, below breasts and high above navel, pain is 3 out of 10. No fever, no loose stools, no vomiting, Pain is in waves. Slight burning. Appetite is light. I recently had a few days of dairy (cream, cheese, ice cream) after not having it for over a month due to a change in eating habits. Could it be a lactose intolerance? Gall bladder removed 32 years ago. No other conditions.
