What Causes Pain During Urination?

my 5 year old grandson says it hurts when he urinates. Is it a urinary tract infections? what should I do, I looked at it and there doesn t seem to be any damage or anything. I asked him if he put something in there and he said no? Beside drinking water what else can I do for the weekend?
