What Causes Pain In Arm While Suffering From Gastric Ulcers?
Hi, I have had very bad reflux, heartburn and excess salvia, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea for 1 week now. 3 years ago I had diagnosed, 2 ulcers, which were treated. I was on pariot for quite a long time. What is different this time is I have extremely bad aching pain in my right arm, shoulder area. Is it ulcers again or something else? I am waiting for results on breath test for Helicobacter pylori doctor did yesterday, but am really worried about leaving this a whole week. I don't know why last time I had a blood test and this time a breath test?
Breath test is used to diagnose H.Pylori infection in the stomach. You can not detect it with blood work (blood test for H.Pylori is not a good one). As you have been diagnosed with ulcers, I assume gastroscopy has been done. If so, there should be H.Pylori test done during this test. Ulcers however do not cause right shoulder and arm pain. There is a condition which can cause all your symptoms along with arm pain. This condition is caused by gallstones.
I suggest you to have abdominal ultrasound done to diagnose it.
Hope this will help. Regards.
