What Causes Pain In Calf In Case Of Ankle Fracture?

Hi. I have cracked and flaked my ankle bone, so have a temporary cast fitted, however, every time I get up to walk on crutches, I get bad cramp in my calf. It goes when I elevate the leg again but is this anything to worry about? Do I need to walk around more?
