What Causes Pain In Calf Muscle After Twisting Knee?

Two nights ago I twisted my right knee. It ached a little that night and into the next day, but after the knee pain subsided, my right calf muscle is really painful, especially upon first standing up after sitting awhile. My right ankle is also slightly swollen, but there is no pain or bruising in that ankle. Could the knee twisting have caused damage to one of my calf muscles?

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
yes as per your symptoms, it seems you have sprained your calf muscles. Rest, Ice fomentation, muscle relaxants medication, along with avoiding strain and using support crepe will help.
