Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello Dr. Rynne, I have a forearm pain that has been bothering me for many months that I feel may have been caused by a yoga pose I was doing while back. During the pose, clasping my hands behind my back and extending, I felt a tightness on top of my arm, which seemed to be limiting me from extending and then felt a sharp pain. I am wondering if I need to see a doctor or if it will heal on its on. If I don t see a doctor, is there any long term damage that will happen?
Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement, Dr. Saurabh Gupta's Response
Hello, Thanks for your query. The symptoms you have described are more likely to be symptoms of muscles strain. To get relief from the pain and for quick healing: 1. Do hot fomatation at the site. 2. Apply local anti-inflammatory gel 2-3 times a day. 3. Take anti-inflammatory drugs like Ibuprofen to reduce pain and local swelling or inflammation. 4. Do not lift weight or try to do exercise that involve painful muscles. Give proper time to heal.
I do hope that you have found something helpful and I will be glad to answer any further query. Take care
