What Causes Pain In Kidney Area Along With Frequent Urination?
I ve been having a dull aching feeling in my kidney area for about 2 wks. Seems like it s more painful the last couple of days. Only other symptom I have is a metallic taste and frequent, urgency to urinate. Not sure what I should do. My dr is unavaliable.

It may be due to dehydration, urinary tract infection, kidney stones, diabetes mellitus, muscular spasm of the back.
Tests needed:
CBC with ESR and Differentials.
Kidney function tests.
Fasting blood sugar levels.
Urine complete analysis; with, Urine culture and sensitivity.
If I was your treating Physician and Urinary tract infection was diagnosed, I would have prescribed you with Nitrofurantoin if not allergic to and of course a follow up after a week.
Take plenty of water and sugar-free cranberry juice.
Once you have the lab reports,get back to me with a follow up question and upload the reports. I will be there for your help anytime.
If you feel nothing is helpful, consult your local Nephrologist for in-office evaluation.
