What Causes Pain In Knee And Suggest Treatment?

I had pain in my right knee, couldn t walk. I went to orthopedic, he told arthritis, another one told there is water inside knee and required to be taken out else can create infection and damage bones also. My family doctor and many other orthopedic I concerned told that no need to test water inside and doctor who told is for money making and if its done once it can be lifetime problem afterwards. Suggest me what should I do. Other orthopedics told me to take medicines for swelling and pain and assured this is not major thing and to worry.

Hello,

You are suffering from knee pain. You have not mentioned anything about any injury to your knee or any past illness. The most common cause of pain in the knee is rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, gout which are triggered by inactivity and sedentary lifestyle. Try to stay active, do stretch exercises and walking but do not over do it. Other causes of knee pain can be being overweight, overuse, tendonitis, bursitis, etc. You are suggested to get clinically examined and get all tests and investigations, imaging tests done to detect or rule out OA, RA, gout, etc.

Diet restrictions will be needed if gout is detected. Take home made balanced diet. Stay away from addictions if any. Include anti-inflammatory food in your regular diet. Stay active, your symptoms should reduce. In case of sever pain you can take Combiflam or Naproxen, one SOS when needed. If your symptoms do not reduce you will have to get clinically examined by an orthopedist and get tests and investigations done to detect or rule out bursitis. You will be treated accordingly.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
