What Causes Pain In Knee With History Of Shin Splints?
Had shin splints a year ago, fully recovered. Went on long walk yesterday, country side & some road, & after 21/2 hours started to get pain under & to the right hand side of my right knee. Pain was worse only when going down hill, no matter how gentle the slope was, it got progressively worse, walked for another 2 hours & have rested as much as possible since. Fine walking up & down stairs, on flat & up hill, still got pain going down hill...could the shin splints have returned?
It may be due shin splints. For pain you can take tablet acetaminophen. Along with that: 1. Take Rest 2. Ice application locally. If not getting relief, go for MRI knee.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Shyam B. Kale, General & Family Physician
