What Causes Pain In Lower Left Abdomen?

I'm a 33 year old male and am experiencing lower left abdominal pain that sometimes sharp and most of the time dull. It is always there and have had it for three years. I also have bad gas, frequent urination and horrible anxiety. I have had anxiety for over ten years. Do I have a colon problem or IBS or do you think all these problems are from my anxiety.

Hello!

Thank you for the query.

Lower left abdominal pain can be caused by urinary tract infection, inguinal hernia or diverticulitis.
As you do urinate a lot, urinary tract infection may be the most probable reason as frequent urinating is one of its symptoms. Other uti symptoms are burning while urinating, back pain, trace of blood in the urine.
Hernia usually gives pain in the groin area with lump which is more visible while standing.
Diverticulitis is a colon issue caused by constipation. It is possible only if you have had chronic constipation. Gas can be a symptom of it as well.
Your gas problem can be also caused by bad diet.
I suggest you to start with some basic tests including urine analysis, blood work and abdominal ultrasound. You should also improve your diet. Increase fiber rich products and mineral water intake. Start probiotic supplementation.
If this wont help, consult gastrologist.

Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.
