What Causes Pain In My Upper Shoulder Region?

I have pain in the back of my shoulder, base of my neck and across my collar bone. I do not recall having done anything to ause this. It is only on the right side. The collar bone area is the most bothersome. What is the cause and how do I make it go away?

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
I think first you have to find out the cause , I would suggest you to show it to orthopaedic surgeon. he may ask you to do few investigations like MRI of shoulder and neck to confirm if this is due to nerve compression or rotator cuff tear. This will help us in managing condition accordingly.
