Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Pain In Stomach Radiating To Chest When I Am Hungry?
Whenever I am hungry, I get hunger pains that start off in my stomach and then ripple up into my chest, right between my breast. When the pain reaches my chest, it feels a little sharp and like it is squeezing. It almost feels like a spasm. This will go on every 5 minutes until I eat something. Why would hunger pains cause chest pains/spasms?
Hello I appreciate your concern Looking at your description It might be caused by any of these conditions Acid peptic disease or acid reflux Stomach ulcer or gastritis due to stomach hyperacidity
I would like further information to help you better like Your age weight and relevant medical history like diabetes or thyroid disease or liver disease Have you seen any doctor
In my opinion you should take anti acidity medicines like pantoprazole or omeprazole with antacids for 10 to 15 days Avoid fatty fried spicy and junk food or carbonated drinks Have small and frequent meals Avoid smoking and alcohol
Hope this helps you If it doesn't improve.than you should consult a gastroenterologist for an endoscopy and an ultrasound. Hope this answers your question Best wishes
