What Causes Pain In Stomach, Throat And Mouth Post Hysterectomy?

I had a hysterectomy on 14 May and since have had 2 episodes of a severely painful stomach with acid backing up into my throat and mouth. I was totally incapacitated and could only find relief in sleeping. My doctor has prescribed and acid reducer. Is this a common side effect to this kind of surgery?

It's not very common but may take place after such surgery. The other reason of acid reflux, if sustains even after antacids, may be hiatal hernia. In any case antacids are best prescribed by your doctor. Pl avoid spicy food and late night dinner. Take more fibers or fiber only duet for sometime.

You doctor is right to keep this reflux under control. He ll tell you further if anything else is found.
