What Causes Pain In The Groin Area On The Left Side?

Hello I have had this sharp debilitatng pain in my lower left groin for over 1 year and when I am 1/2 asleep during the night as I can only sleep on my back...the pain wakes me up I cannot sleep on my left side of m body as the sharp stabbing pain will not allow me to go back to sleep for abut 1/2 hr..I cannot sleep on my right hip either. I just had an ultrasound done in my female organs and the doc seems to think it may be a hip issue. When I sit for more than 1/2 hr the sharp shooting pain in my lower left groin is excruciating. The doc said she saw nothing wrong in my female organs. I have had a knee replacement and shoulder replacement due to arthritis..I ave c/4, c/5 severe arthritis pain, now its to my mid-back and lower back.Arthritis is all over-shoulders, elbows wrists, hips. and I also ve scoliosis. wonder what this lower left pain is? I do have left-side diverticulitis as well. Thank you

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

It could be a pulled muscle or musculoskeletal pain. As a first line of management you can take analgesics like Aceclofenac or Tramadol for pain relief. If symptoms persist, better to consult an orthopedics and get evaluated.
