What Causes Pain In The Left Buttocks While Having Rheumatoid Arthritis?

Hi Doctor, I m 73 male treated for Rheumatoid Arthritis by the VA in Minneapolis. Over the past 3 weeks I have experienced increased pain in my left buttocks. There is no pain in the front where I would assume the pain to be hip related. Its painful when walking or standing, less so when sitting. Could this be a RA surge, like I have experienced at hand, arm and feet joints? What other causes might there be for that pain??

Itcan be because of osteoarthritis of hip joints or may be due to AVN of femur if you have taken steroids for long . Other causes like hairline fracturesare also common at this age. So we will need investigations to figure out whats happening.
