What Causes Pain In The Legs And Neck While On Thyroid Medication?

Hi. I was recently on a compound thyroid medication with t3 and t4. I just had blood work and my thyroid is at 4.62. My index and middle fingers are swollen and have lumps on them. My shoulders hurt. My legs are starting to hurt. My neck hurts. My periods have been late. I just switched back to synthroid 2 days ago

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Synthroid (Levothyroxine sodium tablets, USP)is better than compound thyroid medication with t3 and t4.
The use of Levothyroxine (t4) combined with Liothyronine has been investigated, but benefit has not been confirmed in prospective studies.

Regards,
Dr. T.K. Biswas M.D.
