Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Your symptoms are suggestive of radicular pain in lower limb as result of disc prolapse in lower back. Radicular pain occurs due to nerve root compression in lower lumbar spine and pain is like radiating from knee to ankle and foot as you described.

Diagnosis can be confirmed by MRI of the lumbo sacral spine. MRI is very sensitive and specific for diagnosis of spine pathology. Meanwhile start tablet Pregalin one at bedtime with tablet Ultracet twice a day for pain relief. Visit to spine surgeon for detailed clinical examination is recommended.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Jayesh Vaza, Orthopaedic Surgeon
