What Causes Pain In The Neck In Kids?

My 2 year old woke up yesterday morning like she was fine, but maybe 10min later she grabbed the side of her neck, below her ear, and said it hurt and she needs a doctor. I gave her some childrens ibuprofen and it seemed to help, but when it wears off she starts to hold her neck again. It's still hurting her today. Should I be worried or could it just be a stiff neck?
