What Causes Pain In Umbilical Region While Passing Stools?

My five year old son is complaining of pain in his umbilical region while passing stools. acute onset with severe pain requiring him to lie down. passes in about ten minutes. he also has very foul smelling breath and normal soft formed very foul stools. he has lost weight recently
