What Causes Pain Near Ribs When Suffering From Diabetes?

Hi I m 39 diabetic type 1 that I ve had for four years since giving birth to my third child. I ve had a strange pain on my left side of the rib cage for about a month, it is on and off , if I touch my ribs they do not hurt the pain seems to be behind the ribs and it comes on at different times. Could this be connected to the diabetes? Any ideas what it could be?

Hi there.
Based on your history it doesnt seem to be connected to diabetes. Most probably it could be muscular pain which will go away by taking analgesic (it will confirm the diagnosis of muscular origin)
For Pain in left chest, I would advice you to go for ecg to rule out any cardiac cause.
Take care.

Best regards
