What Causes Pain On Buttock Of A Child?

My 10 year old granddaughter is complaining about pain in her buttock cheeks that has lasted for the last couple of days. She has stated that she did strain yesterday when she had a bowel movement. Could that be what is causing her pain? And what should I do?

yes the straining could be the cause as straining may lead to injury to the anal sphincter. for constiaption you can give her lactulose syrup 3 times daily . to avoid the recurrence of constiaption you should make sure that she drinks enough fluids with daily intake of one cup of orange juice. she should also eat a high fiber diet including green vegetables and bran
