What Causes Pain On Knee Cap?

I had recently ran a 5k and developed runners knee (strong sharp pain in the knee cap and the IT band is tight that caused bruising). The pain still comes and goes depending on how busy of a work day it is. When I bend my knee, te IT band feels like a rubber band...is this normal after two month?

Avoid running, long walks or standing for long time. Your ligaments have probably been weekened, it heals gradually if properly rested. Physiotherapy might help
