Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
About 2 months ago I had a situation where I had a violent sneeze. When this happened I felt and heard something pop in my lower left ribcage and it was extremely painful. Since then, everytime I cough, laugh, left, bend over, and especially when I sneeze it is very painful. This morning I sneezed and thought I was going to pass out, it was the worst pain I ve had from the ordeal so far. I was hoping to find out what this might be and how to make it better.
The pain may be due to intercostal muscle spasm or due to fracture of ribs. Please get it done chest xray to rule other pathology. Use tablet aceclofenac for five days. Use vitamin d supplement for one month. If no improvement please consult with your orthopedician he will examine and treat you accordingly.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu, Internal Medicine Specialist
